Parkinson Walk - Monday 24th - A.H. Reed Park to Whangarei Falls

Another fine morning for our walk which culminated as usual with coffee and a chat.  More water over the falls now that the rains have started.

If you magnify the following photo and look carefully there is a man in red at the bottom left of the waterfall.

  1. A walk in paradise for a good cause. I love the tree ferns, shame they won’t grow in Oregon.

    1. These walks are for people with Parkinsons. I got involved when I was told Max also had Parkinsons and when he went into care I started going on the walks as a "helper. On Monday there were 6 people with Parkinsons and four support people. Sometimes someone can't make the whole walk and so there is someone to go back with them or go on an easier track.

They have all improved greatly in the 18 months the walks have been going.

  2. That looks beautiful. People in shorts in mid-winter - not fair. Mind you we've had a glorious day here too/

    1. There are some hardy souls. I had jeans with thermals on underneath.

    1. We have been so lucky with the weather - I think just one walk has been cancelled in about 18 months.
