Medieval Madness

On Sunday there was a Medieval Madness day at the Museum and Kiwi House.  After we had visited Max and gone to the gym we went along to enjoy the day.

There were the usual train rides and different sheds open plus jesters, minstrels and jousting.

We had  a ride on this train.

Appropriate music being played in the shade.

A second engine parked when we returned.

There were rides on smaller trains - just loved this little engine.

The view over the harbour to the hills in the distance.

Lovely tree by the old Clarke homestead.

                                               Minstrels doing what minstrels do.

Some lovely old vehicles in one of the sheds.

We also visited the Kiwi House and were lucky enough to see a kiwi feeding.  Then there was the jousting and a visit to the medical museum - more to come.  A most enjoyable day.

  2. What a fun day you must have had. I had friends that used to do the medival jousting with their horses when I had lived in Waterloo, ON

  4. What a super way to spend what was obviously a gorgeous day. I love small engines and we have a narrow-gauge railway not very far away from here which is great fun.
