RAIN

After a wonderful Indian Summer it has finally rained - almost continuous for the past couple of days with strong winds as well.

Today was fine again and we went to Tikipunga Park where the river was high (although it was a lot higher yesterday judging by the grass etc. caught in branches).

Usually the river is quite low with just a small amount of water over the rocks

My rain gauge overflowed at 180 mm.

  5. The river looks pretty powerful to me. Hope you aren't going to get the amount of rain we got last winter.

  8. Hot and dry here. What I really need is a day (night) of steady rain!

We had the big storm early in the week but things have settled down now.
My son tells me there's a lot of flooding in the Waikato.

  10. Goodness that's a lot of rain - the river has filled up quickly - it has been threatening to rain here but nothing actually happened.
