FLOWERS

I like to have flowers in the house all year and they must come from my (or Doug's) garden.  Yesterday, I picked some brightly coloured zinnias from Doug's and, when I got home, found some different coloured alstroemerias.  With a couple of pieces of greenery I like the effect.

Not exactly a flower this time but I liked the look of this when I was doing some pruning early this morning.

    1. I have always known the little candle holder and just love it. It gets used on the odd occasion when there is a power cut.

    1. Yes, it was just by chance I found the yellowy alstroemerias and they give it a lift.

  4. Those are absolutely gorgeous flowers. A fabulous display. If I had a garden that produced those I'd be picking them too.

    1. Yes, it goes against the grain to buy flowers. Ones from the garden are so much better on many fronts.

  5. Good to have a splash of colour, but that one on its own is exquisite!

    1. I wondered if anyone would mention this. As I said it is not really a flower. It is what is left when the petals fall off a Tibouchina or Lassiandra flower.

Very pretty - I couldn't resist picking it.

  6. I love zinnias, they're so bright and cheerful. It's been grey and raining all day today, but the daffodils and crocus are starting to come out, which is good.

    1. Yes, Doug's zinnias are a real show. I must plant some next year. Good to hear your daffodils and crocus are starting - the beginning of spring.

      Pouring here today.

      Look after yourself.
