HIBISCUS

Hibiscus do very well here.  There was a raised area behind my house that looked a little bare when we bought so I planted a Hibuscus cutting - it did well so I planted another.  This is the third cutting and the flower is almost as large as the plant.

It is just a "common or garden" variety but it puts on a good show.

This is one of the older plants.  Not many flowers on it today but lots of buds.

  1. We have the rather common version which is called Altea here. They are good 'doers' (especially the purple one) and flower for ages. Yours looks far more sophisticated.

    1. They are great aren't they - I was amazed at the size of the flower compared to the size of the plant.

  4. I grew these (there are three) from cuttings They do really well here although saying that, the middle one is not doing as well as the other two and I don't know why. They are next to each other.
