NEW SOUTH WALES WARATAH

Our Waratahs are in flower, another sign of spring.  It has been a lovely spring day today.  Doug is making a couple more built up gardens for vegetables and I have put some potatoes to chit. Jersey Benne, a variety I haven't grown before.  I hope they do well here - I have just googled them and see they do well in the South Island oops......

  1. The Waratahs are stunning. I love growing my own potatoes.

    1. Yes, the Waratahs are lovely and I agree that you can't beat home grown spuds. Mind you, you can't beat home grown everything.

  2. What an amazing-looking flower! We've just some potted herbs on our back deck, but I enjoy having them. May the spuds do well!

    1. The potatoes were a spur of the moment purchase. I was going to buy some but saw them in Hammer Hardware when we were buying nails. They didn't have the early potatoes that I usually get so I bought these. Fingers crossed that they do well.
