TWO YEARS

Today is our second wedding anniversary.  We went on the usual Parkinson Walk which, this week, was at the Quarry Gardens.

We ordered a roasted leg of lamb and vegetables from our friendly butcher and while Doug collected it I picked and cooked some kale.  It was delicious and we have a nice lot of cold meat left - a bonus.  Lots of messages and phone calls from friends and family - it is always good to catch up.

It has turned cold (I see the forecast was for a high of 19 degrees C.) and we have had some rain showers so the wood burner has been lit.

  1. Congratulations and many happy returns.
Your butcher makes the roast so much easier. I hope he's doing well with his idea

    1. The butcher also does individual roast meals now. I think both are popular. I enjoy cooking but, if one is busy away from home, it is good to be able to order a roast.

Thank you for the congratulations .

  2. All wonderful good wishes to you both. Hope you had a wonderful day, I do hear it is a LOT warmer up near you than in the far south. ( Younger daughter and son-in-law flew up, and they are both so enjoying warm days). XXX to you both.

    1. Thank you Jean. I think the temperature all depends on what you are used to. It has seemed very cold to us today and, yes, we did have a wonderful day.

  3. Congratulations on your anniversary. The Quarry Gardens look a wonderful place for a walk, except I'd probably spend more time using my camera than exercising my legs! I wish your butcher would open a branch near me.

    1. We only visited a very small part of the Gardens yesterday. As its name suggests it was an old quarry and is a voluntary effort. Yes, we are very lucky with the butcher. The leg of lamb was, once again, delicious and lets of leftovers.
