BIRDLIFE - SEAGULLS

Feeding time is a lot like a certain Hitchcock movie.  About ten years ago Doug started by feeding "No Feet" but gradually her friends arrived as well.

Yesterday's cataract operation went well.  One is covered from head to toe with only the eye that is being operated on left uncovered.  The only uncomfortable  part of the operation was removing the cover from around the eye as it is stuck to the face.  Piece of cake.  Apparently my sight is already better in that eye without glasses than it was previously with glasses.  Roll on next week for the other eye.

  1. Congratulations on successful eye surgery. I am curious. What do you feed to the gulls?

    1. We buy dog sausage for the gulls plus they get any cat food my fussy, old, cat doesn't eat.

  2. Good news for your eye, once the next one is fixed, back to 20/20 vision? Love the gull feeder.

  3. Good to hear about the Op'. In Brighton, the only thing they feed to the gulls is poison; they've become a genuine pest, even attacking people.

    1. I think it is more the thought of having someone do things to ones eyes that is the hard part. It was all done really quickly.

  6. Glad to hear all went well with your cataract surgery. Wishing you Good Luck with the other eye too.
The birds that come to my back window are very picky; they don't eat everything.

    1. Thank you. The birds here eat everything. There is always a Golden Labrador/Retriever who will eat any food that gets dropped.

  8. Good to hear that the eye op went well. I remember accompanying my mother when she went to have her cataract removed; it made a huge difference to her life.

    1. Already things look brighter through the "new" eye than they do through the other one.

  9. An easy operation with usually great results. You won’t be seeing grey anymore and colors will be much more colorful now.

    1. The hardest part beforehand is that they have to tell you everything that could possibly go wrong. I would rather not know. Yes, there is more colour already.

  10. good to hear the operation went well. It's funny how you feed one bird and they spread the word to all of their other friends.
