BIRDLIFE - SUGAR SYRUP FEEDER

The main birds that feed from the sugar syrup are the Silver Eye also known as White Eye and the Tui.  They also have a selection of halved mandarins or tangelos to feed from.

The white eyes are so fast it is hard to get a photo so here is one from the web.

  1. You can have no idea how much I would enjoy being there at your feeders!

    1. We love having the birds here although I think you have a wider variety over there.

  2. We have had far less wildlife around this Summer; even the Swallows have deserted us. However, as soon as the cold weather starts, I expect they'll all be back wanting to be fed.

    1. We haven't had much of a winter this year although we did have a good storm with thunder, lightening and rain last night but today dawned fine and was a great drying day.

  3. That a nice feast for the birds. When I volunteered at a butterfly exhibit, we would occasionally put out slices of orange for them. They went down a treat.

    1. That's interesting. I hadn't heard of oranges for butterflies.
