SUNNY DAY

We were expecting to wake to rain this morning instead it was a lovely sunny day so, once again, instead of indoor jobs I got some more washing done and then worked in the garden.  On Facebook this morning I came across this graph of our Main Dam, the Whau Valley Dam.  At least this year's line has started to plateau with the rain but has not started to ascend yet.  Once again, the forecast is for rain tomorrow so fingers crossed.

  1. I hope that you get the rain you require soon - strangely I am looking for rain too, we have hardly had any at all for over two months.

    1. It is going to take a lot of rain to replenish the dams. I think Auckland, our largest city, is even worse. I hope you get some soon.

  2. We have had a night of rain here, but a frost this morning and lovely sunny day. Let it rain up north for you all.

    1. Forecast looks good but then it looked good for today.

  4. Is there any active programme to have people conserve water as a way of life rather than imposing restrictions on use when levels are low? There are many simple measures that can be taken. Get wet under the shower, switch off the water and soap up, turn it back on to rinse off, never let the tap run while doing dishes or brushing teeth, collect rain water in rain barrels etc. Conservation is the ultimate solution.

    1. Having lived further north in the country we relied on water from the roof so I am used to doing all these things. We have 2 water barrels and plan on getting a tank as well. There is finally a suggestion that all new builds have a water tank.

  5. I hope you get your needed rain. We have had more rainy days than sunny, but spring is usually like that here. However, I would like, at least, a few more days of sun.

  6. We've had heavy rain all morning so far, just as well as I've been doing some planting this week so the rain will be welcome.
