Today was fine again and we went to Tikipunga Park where the river was high (although it was a lot higher yesterday judging by the grass etc. caught in branches).
Usually the river is quite low with just a small amount of water over the rocks
My rain gauge overflowed at 180 mm.
We didn't get so much wind out here which we are happy about! Wasn't it a good wee soaking!!
ReplyDeleteI love the smell of earth after a good rain.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had no damage, lots without power, trees onto roof or car or road, flooding again in ChCh, I'm so glad we don't live there. Take care, Hugs,Jean.
ReplyDeleteThat river looks pretty angry at the moment.

The river looks pretty powerful to me. Hope you aren't going to get the amount of rain we got last winter.

The current does look quite strong. Glad the weather's improved for you today and you're able to get out and about.
ReplyDeleteYes, that's a lot of water, Susan. I'm glad you had a lovely Indian summer first.
ReplyDeleteHot and dry here. What I really need is a day (night) of steady rain!
ReplyDeleteWinter has us well and truly in her grasp now.
ReplyDeleteWe had the big storm early in the week but things have settled down now.
My son tells me there's a lot of flooding in the Waikato.
Have a happy weekend.
Goodness that's a lot of rain - the river has filled up quickly - it has been threatening to rain here but nothing actually happened.
