On one of the hottest days I heard a native pigeon flying around the garden and then spotted him/her near the top of a tree. I presume and, indeed hope, that he was in that odd position just to cool off. A short while later I looked and he had gone.
We have just had a short shower - wonderful - no watering tonight. I can't remember when it last rained. It is much needed.
When I visited Max today he seemed to know me and was quite animated. It is amazing how he changes but good to see him looking so well today.
I wish it was 'summertime' here; it's blinkin freezing!
ReplyDeleteIt will soon be spring there as we head to autumn.
DeleteWood pigeons! Such lovely funny birds. Nice photo, Susan. 30 is too hot for me, it's lower 20s here which is just right. Though we really really REALLY need some rain.
ReplyDelete30 is too hot for me as well. 28 here today which wasn't too bad after the days in the 30's. Like you lower to mid 20's are my preference.
DeleteYour pigeons are certainly prettier than ours in the northern hemisphere.
ReplyDeleteThe Kereru, Wood or New Zealand Pigeon are large birds and make a lot of noise when flying.
DeleteIt's been blooming cold here as well. Lovely picture of the pigeon.
ReplyDeleteI gather you have been having pretty terrible weather over there. 28 degrees here yesterday and I think it will be the same today.
DeleteI think the thought of your summer keeps me going through our winter, Susan. :-) I'm glad Max seemed to know you this time.
ReplyDeleteWe have had hardly any rain this winter - lots of bright crisp days though. Perfect winter weather with just a touch of snow.
