A heavy rain watch is in place for 59 hours. The powers that be are taking it very seriously. I have been putting anything that could fly around inside out of harms way and will do more tomorrow morning. I have buckets of water and will fill more jugs as well. We also have our water tank if worst comes to worst as long as we can get to it. Doug has a small one burner gas stove that he is going to bring indoors and we recently bought an excellent rechargeable battery operated light.
The latest Tracking map has it going slightly to the east of New Zealand but, I gather, that does not mean that we won't be affected.
Good luck. It sounds awful. Don't forget to include a few luxuries in your survival pack; when times are bad a cream bun and a bottle Champagne can work wonders.
ReplyDeleteTastes change. We had Moet at my first wedding but nowadays I prefer a good Sauvignon blanc. Instead of a cream bun I have just made a pear and almond cake. Hopefully we won't have to leave the house.
DeleteThat sounds bad, lets hope it passes well away from you. Take care.
ReplyDeleteIt will be great if it does but it could then hit places that had it worse in the last storm
DeleteThis cyclone sounds serious. Sincerely hope it does miss you
ReplyDeleteIt would be good if it went well out to sea. The trouble is if it misses us it will most likely hit the Coromandel and East Coast.
DeleteHope it does track further north...not that that will be much consolation to the islands....
ReplyDeleteIt would be good if it missed New Zealand altogether.
DeleteYes, I think we are all hoping it won't turn out as bad as expected. It never hurts to be prepared though, does it? We have been checking our things too, just in case (although at the moment we are not expected to get too much).
ReplyDeleteTake care, and stay safe xx
Hope you don't get too much
