TODAY'S WALK

Last night we had heavy rain and thunderstorm watches and wondered whether we would be having the Parkinson walk this morning.  Anyway, the day dawned fine so we headed for the planned walk which was from A.H. Reed Park to the Whangarei Falls.  We were surprised at how full the river was as it only rained overnight.

This is the most water I have seen coming over the Falls.

This is a photo of the Falls in March last year (what it usually looks like).

After the walk and coffee we headed to do a supermarket shop then back home for a quick lunch before heading to the GP for Doug's dressing to be changed.  It is coming on well but a long way to go.

    1. I have just added a photo of the falls from March last year (how it usually looks). His finger is looking better. A long way to go though.

    1. He is doing what he is told at the moment which helps. The splint is also a good helping to keep the finger from bending. The walk was great. Lovely to have a sunny day after last night's rain.

  3. A good day.
We are really low on water...we might get rain in a week's time.

    1. I hope you get rain. My stepdaughter across the ditch in N.S.W. has even more rain forecast with flooding warnings. She has lost lots of plants due to the over wet soil.

  4. Still no rain here, they're talking about a water shortage in the Summer.

  5. The falls look a wonderful sight. We are longing for a really good downpour as everything is desperately dry..
Good that Doug is being well looked after, the sight of his torn glove makes me shudder as to what might have been!

    1. Yes, the falls and great. We were surprised at so much water after one night of rain. Doug was really lucky as it could easily have been a lot worse. Hope you continue to get good rain.
