Here are a couple of Doug's recent paintings. He knows I love and miss robins so painted this robin for me.
He also painted another view of the Whangarei Falls from a photo I had taken. I love the light in this painting.
As far as the drive is concerned we had an email last night to say the concrete is due to arrive at 1 p.m. on Monday. Our contactor was here this morning doing some more work to get everything ready for the pour. I know he is working on a big job tomorrow involving several firms. He was telling Doug how he plans to finish the concrete. We are really looking forward to seeing the finished job.
A concrete driveway is the best, and after years of metal, a steep one we had to scrape with the tractor after rain, and one where weeds grew so fast, our one now is probably the best bonus of all. Sounds like your contractor really knows his job so well.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree with concrete driveways. Up north we had a very long one with metal through the paddocks. We are really pleased with our choice of contractor.
DeleteOh, I love the robin Doug painted. We do not have robins here, but rather black birds with red breasts. We call them robins, but they really aren't.
ReplyDeleteThere are two robins here in New Zealand, the North Island Robin and the South Island Robin but are mainly found in the bush and not as far north as here. They are not colourful like the English Robin.
