A lovely sunny day today and I have been in the garden weeding and generally getting ready to do some planting/sowing. We have both done some weeding earlier but we have still been getting rain and wind and there are still showers in the forecast.
Anyway, I am pleased with the weeding/clearing I have done today while Doug has been painting.
The trees in the park behind us are coming into leaf
The punga ferns that were self sown behind one of the fountains and moved are doing well.
Still a lot to do but it is good to have made a start.
A lovely sunny day here yesterday too, but the mornings are colder, leaves are already falling, and autumn is definitely in the air.
ReplyDeleteGetting lighter in the mornings although Daylight Savings starts this weekend.
DeleteIsn't it a relief when Spring really kicks in!
ReplyDeleteYes, it has been such a wet winter.
DeleteI love seeing your garden burst into life just as mine is going over, even with the huge distance we share the love of the same plants.
ReplyDeleteIn 6 months time I will be watching your garden burst into life.
DeleteYou might have spring up there, but still cold and wet down here, lit the fire late this afternoon!! Next thing daylight saving starts again !!! however I do have some bluebells in flower, daffs too, grape hyacinth, one rogue hyacinth, and Hugh planed lettuce and other veges, then over the fibreglass curved rods put some frost cloth. it makes a mini climate that might help.
ReplyDeleteStill got the fire going in the evenings. My bluebells have finished flowering. Haven't planted any veg yet although I do have some bean plants ready to go in. Have discovered a Lass nearby who grows and delivers organic veg so may cut down the amount I grow.
DeleteYou have a lot of spring colour on display and some very healthy lavender. I am seed gathering to be ready for spring next year. Gardeners are always looking forwards!
ReplyDeleteYes, always planning ahead. A couple of months ago I thought I would have had to replace the lavender but it is looking good now.
DeleteLovely to see the pungas but your whole garden is flourishing. How wonderful to enjoy the sight every day
ReplyDeleteThrilled with the pungas. Plants for free. They just came up between a water feature and the house so we moved them and they seem very happy in their new area.
DeleteIt's so beautiful to move around the world... your trees are green, and here the leaves are changing color and falling... autumn meets spring.
ReplyDeleteWarm greetings to you as nature awakens. And the showers will support the growth of all plants.
Thank you for your beautiful garden photos... I wish you much success and joy.
Nice to hear from you. I always enjoy seeing northern hemisphere spring as we are headed to winter. Thank you for the good wishes.
DeleteVery nice colours. what are the purple flowers at the bottom, they look a bit like cineraria?
ReplyDeleteYes, cineraria. We have quite a few in flower around the garden.
DeleteMoc krásná barevná zahrádka.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I was not able to view your blog.
