I love this time of year in the garden with new plants flowering every day.
A pale cineraria under the lemon tree
The front garden
I can't remember the name of this yellow flower but the bees and butterflies love it.
There are now several foxgloves in flower from white through to this pink.
Another foxglove in the back garden
The vegetable beds are turning into flower beds as self-sown plants pop up.
This bed of poppies was filled with spinach and Swiss chard over winter.
Another cineraria with the lovely yellow abutilon
We have been trying to get rid of algae in the fish pond so Doug made this container and we bought some watercress plants at the Market yesterday. It looks happy.
Vegie gardening getting off to a slow start. Cheating. A punnet of Blue Lake Runner beans planted a few weeks ago and one of stringless scarlet runner bean purchased yesterday. I must sow some more beans in the next few days.
Some of the Amaryllis a neighbour gave us when she moved to Western Australia.
I miss my veg' garden. I'm going to try to grow some Bok Choi next Summer; I think 3 months should be enough.
ReplyDeleteMr Google tells me 45 days from sowing to harvest so should be good.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful garden, what a splendor of flowers and plants... I wish you much joy.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Lots of self-sown plants coming up.
DeleteThe amaryllis is gorgeous. I have one in the garden too. I haven't seen foxgloves in years. The garden is lovely
ReplyDeleteI planted some foxgloves a few years back and they keep self-sowing which is what I love.
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteVery nice blog. I am new, do you like to follow each other? I follow you number 67

Thank you.
DeleteLooking really beautiful, perfect to see as our gardens fade.
ReplyDeleteand I enjoy yours as ours are fading.
DeleteThat's something I miss, we don't get cineraria here in the South island.
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame. They put some lovely colour in a garden.
DeleteIt is all looking wonderfully productive. 'Blue Lake' runner beans are one of my favourites, I keep the seeds from year to year and they never fail. I love white foxgloves and am happy for them to pop up wherever they want. I pull up any that show signs of colour because otherwise the new seedlings would eventually all return to red.
ReplyDeleteI have never grown Blue Lake before. Look forward to trying them. I am sure I only started with some pink foxgloves but now have various shades.
DeleteYour garden is blooming beautifully; it's lovely to see so many butterflies and bees.
ReplyDeleteI especially love the double poppies.
Warmest regards and much joy in your garden!
