CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS

We finally got our Christmas decorations up earlier in the week, the latest I can remember.  I find Christmas in the summer does not work well.  There is all the extra work in the garden and daily watering as well as the usual Christmas functions and the heat.

Last year we gave the majority of our decorations to an Op Shop (Charity shop) and just have the lovely pewter ornaments from Halifax in Nova Scotia that my cousin from north of Toronto has been sending me for years. (there is another one waiting to be opened on Christmas Day).

  1. We have downsized our Xmas decor a lot. But we still have all the decorations in boxes. I wish we could give ours away.
I love your more minimal style

    1. It feels good to have decluttered and also to have the lovely pewter ornaments on the tree. They live in a glass cabinet all year and it is lovely to have them on display.

  2. I have far too many decorations and a 7 foot tree, but whilst I'm still able they stay. I love all the foliage, mine is all silk, always a gardener at heart.

    1. We are still able but it is nice having less, especially at this extra busy time of year.

  3. We haven't really bothered putting up too much this year, I got one from a $2 shop a few years ago when we lived in Kerikeri but it's small enough to fit on the windowsill, meaning I do'nt have to decorate it or put them away afterwards.

    1. The small one on the woodburner I bought many years ago and it gets put away with all the decorations on it.
