That changed last Tuesday when we got a phone call to ask if the following day would be suitable for the installation. At 7.30 a.m. on the 6th three workman arrived - two to install the panels and an electrician.
They worked hard all day and finally left just after 5 p.m. telling us that an Inspector would be here on Friday morning at 7.30 a.m. Actually, there were three men - the electrician who had done the work, the Inspector and someone from our power company.
We were wondering how long it would be before it was up and running but it was "all go" before they left. Of course with sod's law the weather has been pretty cloudy ever since.
I am still coming to terms with the website that gives me lots of information and am yet to download the app which, I think, will give me more information and we will receive an "Owners' Manual" in the mail in a few days.
This was all one could see of the work on the day.

We have solar panels for hot water but that's all. It's difficult here for power.
ReplyDeleteYour installets sound very efficient. Hope it makes a difference
I hope it makes a difference too as it was my idea 🙂
DeleteWe had some at the Barn in France. The whole system was huge with masses of piping, etc. We never knew how efficient it was, but I imagine it worked well.
ReplyDeleteWe have ten panels on the porch and spare room roof. No sign of any piping. There is an extra meter.
DeleteYou mention piping..is it just for hot water or are they PV panels for power?
ReplyDeleteI had panels for hot water in Gwynedd in the 80s.. brilliant, with 4 kids!! My brother now has PV solar panels , a house battery and electric van and motorbike. A very good economical system....and does the job in winter as well as summer.
The main problem is getting people to understand that they work with Daylight...not just Sunlight!!
Cro mentioned piping. We don't have any sign of piping just solar panels. We don't have a battery as the company we dealt with didn't recommend it. Unfortunately, it has been quite dark with the clouds but we are still generating power.
DeleteI wish you much success with the solar system.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Not doing too bad considering the weather we ae having at the moment.
