Yesterday's headlines in our local paper "It's Snowing". There was a light dusting of snow on top of the Tangihua Ranges, south-west of Whangarei. Not a big deal elsewhere but it is the FIRST official recording of snow in Northland.
Anyway, today was another sunny day and I managed to get out and do a food shop then give the car a much needed wash and finally, shorten some curtains that have annoyed me ever since we moved here two years ago as they always got caught in the drawer of my filing cabinet. Fixed at last.
Brrrr. Our Summer has got lost somewhere!
ReplyDeleteThe first snow is always a beautiful sight. There is something very peaceful about it.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it feel good when you get all the little jobs that seem to hang on - done! We've had sunshine here today although the weather is so unpredictable. It feels as though Autumn's come early this year!
ReplyDeleteCro - Sorry your summer has disappeared - at least we have had sun this week even though it is cold - it makes such a difference.
ReplyDeleteSO AC M -When I said first snow - it is the first snow ever recorded in Northland - only a light dusting on the high hills. I think the last time I was in snow would have been 1974!!!
Molly - yes it feels great to catch up on those jobs. Glad you have some sunshine. I was talking to Oswestry the other day but we didn't mention the weather - how unusual.
Wills and Kellogg were swimming yesterday, so maybe our weather is changing. Like Molly, it felt before as if we were going directly into Autumn.
ReplyDeleteMind you, Wills and Kellog could be a lot tougher than me as far as going in the water is concerned. Still hope your weather is improving - you could be in for an Indian Summer.
