Te Waimate Mission House
On the way home after visiting Kerikeri we went to the Waimate Mission House only to find it closed for renovations. We were, however, able to look around the gardens and the church next door. The whole area was set up as an "English Village" see here and here.
There were some lovely old trees on the property. The photo of the organ is not good but I included it as it is the only one I have.

ReplyDeleteThe whole place is very peaceful. Although it was set up as a village there are very few houses around now and the big old trees are very tranquil.

ReplyDeleteI still can't believe my luck, I'm sure the woman didn't really know what it was, just giving me the car boot talk about the loft etc. I really didn't expect it to work and when it did I was ecstatic.
Bet I won't ever get quite such a bargain again, lol

Apart from things one hears on the Antiques Roadshow I think that is the best bargain I have heard of - lucky you!!!!!!!!!!!!
