MERRY CHRISTMAS

Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas

I have been very pleased with a couple of flowers in particular over the last couple of days - a surprise as we have had such terrible weather, rain, rain, rain.

The above is a flower from my Oak Leaf Hydrangea.  The flowerhead is 15 inches long.

Yesterday morning I discovered this in flower just at eye height - it was all over this morning but was wonderful while it lasted.

and here is a smaller Hydrangea with some Christmas Decorations.

The best news of all is that Max and I became Great-grandparents on  the 17th - a 7lb baby girl called Taylor.  The photo I have is in a format I am unable to transfer to the Blog.

  1. As you may know; I'm not a flower expert. However, we do have a climbing Hydrangea which is interesting and has a white flower; but nothing like yours.

    1. Yes, wonderful news. I haven't been able to tell Max though (although I am not sure he would understand) but he has been sleeping more and more and I had a phone call today as they had trouble waking him. He has an extra low BP, slightly high temp and just slept heavily all day.

  3. What wonderful news - a baby girl - Happy Christmas to you, and the white cactus flower is beautiful what a pity it stayed such a short while.

    1. Thank you, yes the Oak Leaf Hydrangea has done really well this year but all this wet weather has been hard on it. I thought I may as well pick a few of them as the plant was drooping so much with the rain.
