We are having an Indian Summer and, apparently, it is set to linger for another three weeks. It is Tee Shirt and shorts weather, in fact that is what I have been wearing today and have, at times, been too hot. When you think that it is May (the equivalent of November in the Northern Hemisphere) we should be having temperatures several degrees lower - it was 24 degrees C. yesterday and that would have been at the airport where temperatures are usually lower.
Anyway, I took a few photos today. The top two were at Tikipunga Sports Field when we were walking Sophie this morning and the bottom ones are in my garden. Although we have had very little rain there has been heavy dew which has helped the garden.
I have also been releasing 3 - 4 Monarch Butterflies every day.
Lovely weather here too. Cold nights should now be over, and farmers will be hay making and ploughing. Summer is on the horizon.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately winter will be here before long. At least I have plenty of wood from the gleditsia that was cut down last year. I hope it burns well.
Deletewe have had some cooler mornings, but lately warm for May. Very warm. Not quite shorts and T shirts down here, but a friend today wore those and was so suitably attired. But then, she is a heap younger than me!!!
ReplyDeleteWe started the day with fog but it soon cleared. I am sure I would normally have lit a fire by now.
DeleteIt was like we didn't have winter, it was one very long spring and now summer.
ReplyDeleteOur winters are very mild - if a snowflake is seen on the tops of the hills it is major news. It will be interesting to see what sort of winter we get this year. Your garden looks wonderful. Enjoy your summer.
DeleteLovely, I always enjoy and Indian Summer, it is such a bonus before the winter months. However, your winter is so much more gentle than ours.
ReplyDeleteYes, Rosemary, I always prefer autumn anyway - summer can be a bit too hot for me. The weather over the last few weeks has been perfect.
DeleteIndian summer is usually better than summer because it is always a nice surprise.
ReplyDeleteYes, I was all ready to start lighting fires but have had no need.
DeleteWhat beautiful skies!! We have had a very beautiful week here in Germany (unusual to say the least) and it has been quite nice :)
