We had a lovely Christmas Day - seven around the table enjoying the meal. From my lovely Stepdaughter in Australia we received a wonderful Food Parcel with various Gluten Free items which also included a bottle of Raspberry Wine Vinegar and a bottle of White Truffle Infused Olive oil both from the Southern Highlands where she lives. There is also a packet (still to be opened) for my birthday.
The lovely Christmas throw was from her parcel last year
I am told the cake was delicious but I had a separate gluten free one.
The goodies from Australia
Doug received a beautiful hand made eel.
Goodies, they are so special, and the eel, what a beauty.
ReplyDeleteWe love the eel. It moves so realistically. A lot of work went into creating it.

ReplyDeleteLooks lovely especially the cake. Happy Birthday for tomorrow xxxx
ReplyDeleteThank you Molly. Happy New Year to you.
DeleteLooks good! And that cake, wow. I just wanted to tell you that I carefully saved some of the purple kumara you so kindly sent me to have with Christmas dinner. (There were only three of us at dinner so I didn't have too big a sacrifice to make!) I roasted them with some other vegetables and they went down very well. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI commented earlier but it seems to have got lost in the ether between Waikanae and Whangarei. Never mind, I just wanted to let you know that I carefully saved some purple kumara to have with Christmas dinner. They went down very well and looked gorgeous on the plate.
ReplyDeleteAnd that cake looks amazing! Love the way it's decorated, prefer that to icing in my opinion (I always pick icing off.)
Glad you enjoyed the kumara. We had the common or garden ones but I wish I had bought more of the purple. Apparently the cake tasted as good as it looked. Happy New Year.
DeleteThe cake looks lovely and I really dig that wooden eel!
ReplyDeleteThe eel is great - so much work went into making it and it moves just like the real thing. Happy New Year.
