It is an excellent location for the trees - across the bridge above the falls. We have not studied the actual trees but I assume there is a variety. As we go a different way around the walk every other week we will not pass this spot when we do the walk tomorrow.
That was such a terrible tragedy and so important that they are all remembered.
ReplyDeleteYes and seeing all those trees makes one realise the number of people killed and then there were so many injured as well.
DeletePlanting trees as memorial is common in my country, trees representing life loss of individuals and/or communities.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes attend a ceremony in a place near Jerusalem called "the Forest of the Martyrs".
That must be quite special.
