We had eleven walkers today
It was a pleasant walk on a pleasant day.
After the walk everyone came back here for tea/coffee, hot cross buns, Easter eggs, corn bread and various biscuits and plenty of chatter.

VINEGAR HILL
Today, the Parkinson Walking Group did a walk from Vinegar Hill Road. On the left is a stream and a few years ago it was planted with Natives. The main tree here is Manuka (as in Manuka Honey).
A little further on it opens up and you can see through to the hills

On the right of the path is the Kamo Pony Club and as one goes further on the rear of one of the Retirement Villages in the area is visible.

DeleteA lovely area to walk away once again. a lovely area for a retirement home too. Well away from the hustle and bustle.

DeleteVinegar Hill is an unusal name - glad you all enjoyed a good walk together - the treat at your house afterwards sounds really lovely.
ReplyDeleteRosemary, I have often wondered about the name and have just "googled" it. Here is the answer: Vinegar Hill is so named because in early colonial times a bullock cart carrying barrels of vinegar overturned on a muddy track and covered the hillside with vinegar.

ReplyDeleteYes, Arleen, cooler at night - 12° to 15°C and 22° to 25°C during the day. Yesterday I had a light tee shirt under a hemp and cotton long sleeved shirt but got quite hot halfway around the walk.

DeleteI was wondering where Vinegar Hill is then I realized it's not far from where my aunt and uncle's deer farm is.
