A NEW SPADE

Our lovely La Festa car has had a few problems lately so, when we were in the area last week we called into Toyota for a browse, as one does.

We noticed this funny little car called a Spade. It fitted all our requirements and came home with us yesterday. It is shorter than the La Festa, more economical and has a higher safety rating.

The passenger side has a large electric sliding door.

  1. Call it by any other name, a Spade is still a Spade, I do like it, love the colour, the economy, you will whizz round town so easily, trouble free. These days there is such a long wait for anything, if you see it, GET it right now. Are you both safe up there, I see a worker has tested positive near you, and the positive cases are creeping further south. I keep asking Hugh if he needs anything from Mitre 10 or similar, get them now.I wonder what the Teddy Bears are saying this week?

    1. I see it was someone from Auckland who tested positive here. Hope there are no more.

  2. I would happily do without a car, but it's a necessity. As long as they don't break down, I'm happy.

    1. This one was refusing to start randomly. I presume the 3 of you will drive to Brighton in the Compact Royce.

  5. This looks a bit like a Suzuki Wagon R that we used to own, we loved that car.
I really like the sliding door.

    1. Yes, the sliding door is great. Our La Festa had sliding doors both sides. Great in carparks.

  6. Oh, that's a good-looking little car. I like what appears to be good head room.

We don't have the Spade here, but if we did, it would probably sell like hotcakes.

    1. The Spade only comes here as a "Japanese import" which means it was used in Japan and then imported in this case by Toyota.

  7. I've never heard of a Spade car before, but it sounds quite impressive for a smallish car. I hope you get many happy years of service out of it.
