First I drove to Tikipunga where we walked Sophie.
Sophie always has a swim and needs drying after her walk!!!!
I then drove straight to the Town Basin and Doug took Sophie home on the way. He had to take his car in for new Shock Absorbers and I had suggested it would be a good time to walk along the river from the Town Basin. Although he had been to the Town Basin, Doug didn't know about this walk and was amazed , even getting in the waka to check it out!!!!
The new bridge across the Hatea River is progressing well. The various components of the bascule have started arriving in Whangarei.
I left Doug at the Town Basin with another hour to pass while he waited for his car. He was going to have a coffee and visit the Art Museum and Gallery. I went and visited Max who was not feeling very bright today.

Lovely weather, but cooler mornings.A bascule bridge, had to Google it, sounds fascinating, and the progress will be so interesting. Cheers from Jean
ReplyDeleteI have since added a link to photos of what the bridge will look like - should be stunning.
DeleteIt got cloudy this afternoon but is very pleasant. Hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm sure you'd like to know that it's really foul here. Wind, rain, and cold. No swimming for Monty.
ReplyDeleteYou will soon be having summer while we head into winter.
DeleteLovely day for a walk - it is well worth clicking on your photos to see them enlarged.
ReplyDeleteLooks like being good today as well - another walk planned.
DeleteWonderful photos, it is trying to look like spring here but the nights are soooo cold.
ReplyDeleteMorning cool here again but promise of a good day,
DeleteLooks a lovely place for a walk. Like Cro's our day has been grey, wet and cold here too. Not complaining though - toasty warm inside by the Rayburn. Lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteNothing like being inside by the fire on a cold day. Hope the Shrewsbury runs are going o.k. New link on post to photos of what the bridge will look like.
DeleteHow gorgeous, Susan, and so wonderful to see cloudless blue skies. Here it's been grey for so long.....
ReplyDeleteAt least you have spring on the horizon whereas we are headed to autumn - the nights have been getting colder
ReplyDeleteTrue, Susan, but given this weekend's forecast of yet more snow, there's no sign of spring as yet.....
DeleteMind you, I suppose it is only February and hopefully things summer will continue for a while yet. As you can see the days are wonderful.
