Doug's youngest Grandson got his pilot's licence last month and today Doug was his very proud first passenger. We drove up to Kerikeri.
Doug and his grandson walk out to the plane
Grandson does his pre-flight checks
Doug gets into the plane
and gets belted in
Ready for take off
and they are up and away
and here they come - I see from the clock on the camera that the flight lasted 25 minutes. They had a wonderful view of the Bay of Islands.
Congratulations to grandson, and to Doug, to be the first passenger, what an honour and a huge thrill.
ReplyDeleteIt was very special - I do hope you are feeling better.

DeleteLots of congratulations to the young man. Hope your birthday was special xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you Molly, yes I am having a great day.
DeleteAnd when is your turn?
ReplyDeleteI passed as I do not particularly like flying - I have problems with my ears. Just as well as the wind was quite strong with turbulence. I may go up with him one day - we will see.
DeleteWhat a thrill it must have been for Doug to be the first passenger. It must have been a thrill too for the grandson to show off his expertise. The weather looked good – the view from the aircraft must have been lovely. A day to remember.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was, the weather was good apart from a strong wind. Definitely, a day to remember. Happy New Year.
