We got much needed rain. This morning we went to the Growers' Market at about 6.30 as usual and the rain was heavy with strong wind gusts. Even though we had wet weather gear on I was soaked to the skin. Doug's umbrella was completely munted after being blown inside out by a strong gust that also lifted the awning on a stall dousing me in water. We still managed to walk Sophie and then go to the Supermarket before coming home for breakfast.
For the rest of the day we had steady but not heavy rain. Our water barrels that were nearly empty are now full to overflowing. It was good to have a day off from outside work.
My brocolli plants got knocked over although the silver beet and perpetual spinach look fine.
We have a big drizzle, not quite heavy rain yet, but the barometer is dropping.Hope you manage to escape the deluge that is predicted.
ReplyDeleteHeavy rain and thunderstorms last night from about 8.30 - not sure what time they ceased. A very fine drizzle this morning with more thunderstorms forecast. At least the garden is now well watered.
DeleteWe just went through a thunderstorm which included a few minutes of hail. Hopefully, it did no harm. Here, April showers bring May flowers.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, here the weather will just get worse although our winters are not really bad at all compared to most places including the rest of New Zealand.
DeleteWe've got much the same here, some pretty intense thunderstorms overnight too.
ReplyDeleteForecast was for the same today but it has been fine - It felt quite hot - I was in tee shirt and shorts.
DeleteWe've just had a good dose of overnight rain.... Yippee.
ReplyDeleteWe really needed the rain. Jus hope it isn't too bad in the morning as it is the Parkinson's walk.
