I have just been reading on Facebook of all the roads closed by flooding, fallen trees etc.
I made a different sugar free jam - blueberry with a little cut up prune added for sweetness, thickened with chia seeds. I did add a teaspoon of honey. Tastes good.
Tomorrow is forecast to be fine for a couple of days. Hope so as Doug wants to get on putting up the wall boards that are sitting outside on the trailer under a couple of tarpaulins.
I have not ventured out for two days now.
Non stop rain for two days. It would have been a great day for you all.
ReplyDeleteI love to have the sugar free jam:)
Had enough rain now. The jam is delicious. Whereabouts are you?
ReplyDeleteI see roads are closed, just as well Jacinda did not have to travel far. Keep safe and dry, and firewood, a huge advantage to have it handy to the door.
ReplyDeleteYes, SH 1 is closed as well as many minor roads. Luckily we were able to stay indoors. Great news about the baby !!!
DeleteFirewood is quite close and there was a lot just at the back door but we got through that.
I don't know if you saw my previous post but I thought you may have a special way of cooking wild pork.
stay safe and dry!! xx
ReplyDeleteThe good news is the winter solstice. The days get longer from now
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be raining everywhere. Our spring was very wet wit lots of flooding, and we are beginning summer with expected showers. It makes one appreciate sunny days even more.
ReplyDeleteWe are really enjoying a couple of sunny days now. Rain then forecast for a few days but we have just had the winter solstice.
DeleteThe rain sounds intense. Your sugar-free jam sounds very tasty. Adding prunes seems like a fine idea!
