I have mentioned previously that the majority of roses in Doug's garden came from one his daughter had in a previous garden. We don't know the name of the rose but below is a cutting Doug took last summer. He planted it out in the garden a couple of months ago.
The flower is almost as large as the little plant.
Our roses are almost finished now, I've been taking the last few indoors and they last really well, saves them getting ravaged by cold nights and winds.

The larger bushes are covered in flowers.
DeleteI would call this rose “beautiful”.
ReplyDeleteIt is isn't it.
DeleteGorgeous. I can imagine the Little Prince tending this rose.
ReplyDeletegetting the finger pricked?
DeleteSuch a beautiful rose.
ReplyDelete"Everything" in the little plant, must have gone into, making the gorgeous flower. :-)

Yes, I was surprised to see a flower on such a small plant.
DeleteLooks a bit like my Mr. Lincoln. Same root roses, meaning plants made from cuttings take at least five years to become sizable plants.
ReplyDeleteIt is now 10 years since Doug moved here and he took the first cuttings from his daughter's rose then. There are now quite a few bushes around the garden and this little one is the latest.
Deleteoh it's pretty, I've never been able to grow roses from cuttings.
ReplyDeleteAll of the roses except one here are from cuttings.
DeleteIt’s such a beautiful colour and I agree it put all its energy into producing this exquisite flower.πΉ
ReplyDeleteI think Doug’s green fingers must have something to do with it!
Good to hear from you again. I lost your details when I accidentally deleted all the blogs I follow back in February.
