AT LAST

When Doug and I got married and Kim the cat and I moved in we had Kim and Doug's Labrador/Retriever Sophie separated with Kim having full run of the lounge and my bedroom and barriers to keep Sophie out.  As Doug used to have trouble with neighbouring cats hunting the birds he fed he always encouraged Sophie to chase the cats and suddenly there was one living in the house.

The barriers stayed up for over a year and there is still a child's gate on my bedroom door as that is where Kim is fed.

Finally this winter they are tolerating each other and a few nights ago this.....

they are back to back but only a couple of inches apart in front of the fire.  Kim usually gets to the fire first as she appears as soon as she hears me light it.

Long may it last.

  3. That is a massive leap of faith for them both, hope it continues, maybe the fire is the catalyst for this happiness.( Sorry for the pun, but the word seemed to fit).

  5. It took me years to get Freddie and Bok to tolerate each other. It did happen eventually; but only just!

  6. "The lion and the lamb shall lay down together". My neighbours' cats have all adopted my garden as their property, it being the only area which is free of four-year-olds.

    1. That's about it. I hope your neighbours' cats relax in your garden - one so often hears of cats using the neighbours' garden as a toilet. It got me wondering how many four-year-olds your neighbours have.

  8. That's nice they are finally getting along. My foxy use to be good with the 2 cats we use to have, I think she worked out that they were the bosses.
