TAHEKE FALLS

A fortnight ago Doug and I went for a walk in the bush at Taheke Falls.  The Falls are the highest in Northland although only part of them are visible from the top in the second photo.  The top photo is looking down the valley.  There was a 2 hour walk through lovely bush there.

I have just been down in Auckland for four days staying with friends and visiting my brother in law and a friend in different rest homes and catching up with various family members.  I also went to the World of Wearable Arts show at the Auckland Museum - well worth the trip down.

Below are photos of a couple of the costumes.

We have had some light showers but the drought is still very much in evidence.

Monday Walk - 21st May

We were lucky with the weather for our Monday walk.  Showers had been forecast but they held off.  We walked around the Airport at Onerahi.  A group of eleven of us.  We got a bit separated as some were able to walk faster and further than others but a good time was had by all.

There were a few showers later as I did some shopping and drove home and about 4 o'clock the temperature dropped and the rain started.

I don't know how I will cope with winter as I have two fires going and Google weather tells me it is 15 degrees C.
