Last month we went to an Operatunity Concert for the first time. We returned today for their Iconic Kiwis Concert. These are daytime concerts designed for the "older generation" and are a lot of fun. One of the artists today was Marian Burns and one of the tunes she played was Orange Blossom. I couldn't find a video of her playing solo so this will have to do.
Another song was Blue smoke.
The whole show was varied and thoroughly entertaining.
Blue Smoke, what a great one that was. Daytime Concerts, there need to be some down here, miss the traffic and the night driving and enjoy a matinee or a morning show.
Yes, it was great - it was actually from 11 a.m. to 12.30 and sandwiches, cake and coffee or tea were provided for lunch. Unfortunately, no Gluten free options are available but Doug enjoyed his sandwich and cake.

ReplyDeleteNot sure where your nearest would be. I have just heard that a mini van came down from Kaitaia.
DeleteWhat fun and enjoyable music and a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

DeleteExcellent. Orange Blossom is a rousing tune!
ReplyDeleteGreat winters entertainment.
Delete'Operatunity' is originally a New Zeeland concept of daytime concerts for seniors. It should be imitated by all the countries of the world.
ReplyDeleteYes, I don't know whether it is copied in any other countries but it is very popular here in New Zealand.
DeleteWould not be my choice in music but the concept of Operatunity is very worthwhile.
