By coincidence we arrived at the Park at the same time as Doug's daughter and great-granddaughter so they joined us for the boardwalk before returning to their car while we continued on.
One of the stairs we went up
to get to the Paranui Falls
We then headed up Clapham Road
Looking back toward Clapham Road
This brought us to the Glenbervie Road and it was a short walk back to the Whangarei Falls and home. According to Samsung Health we walked just over 7.5 kms in about two hours. A very pleasant stroll.
It is great to see you walking with the children. I hope they will develop an abiding love of nature.
ReplyDeleteDoug's daughter has only just moved here and grand-daughter and family are moving once they sell. We now have two great-grandchildren here which is great. Kowhai is a great walker and loves nature.
DeleteIt looks like a lovely walk, especially since you met up with family but, oh my gosh, those stairs are daunting. I am sure that I would run out of breath at half way up.
ReplyDeleteI keep pushing myself. At our weekly gym sessions I go up and down the stairs 8 times as extra exercise which makes these steps easier.
DeleteI don't think I've been to that waterfall, will tell the other half about it.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many waterfalls here. Have you been to the Taheke Falls further along Whareora Road.
DeleteA beautiful walk Love that waterfall and these beautiful painted bids on the fence. A lot of stairs to climb on your walk :)
ReplyDeleteYes, the birds were lovely. I like stairs for exercise.
DeleteWalking yes, stairs no - unless there was no other way to reach the Paranui Falls.
ReplyDelete(I hope you are not one of those people who think extra excercise will help them lose weight,or something like that, because it definitely won't).
Definitely not. Like to keep fit and enjoy it. Need to put weight on.
