Last night we attended a
Green Drinks function held at the Hundertwasser Art Centre Afforested Rooftop. There was a speaker telling us about the rooftop itself, how it was set up and Hundertwasser's vision, another on the Northland Regional Council's Predator Free programme and particularly on the pekapeka, New Zealand's bat.
Although there were black clouds around the weather stayed fine and we both enjoyed the evening.
We arrived a few minutes early so had a stroll around the Town Basin.
I didn't see the title of these - a bronze and a wood carving.

It was the second Green Drinks evening we have attended having been included since doing the composting course. Both were very interesting.
Lovely to be able to appreciate the usually busy place with fewer people there.
ReplyDeleteThe evening sun really lifts that last shot
Yes, that wall can look a bit dark but the evening sun brought it to life. A really enjoyable evening.
DeleteSounds wonderful and lovely views!
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly were the green drinks?
Green Drinks is an international organisation. If you click on green drinks at the top it tells you about it. We don't fit the criteria but got included by going to the composting course. There were various nibbles and dips as well as wine, cider, water and beer available. All at no charge.
DeleteSounds fun and looked stunning.
ReplyDeleteWe have been meaning to go there for some time so this was a great opportunity.
Deleteit's been a while since I visited the waterfront and I haven't visited the hundertwasser either but think I need to next time we are up that way.
ReplyDeleteWe still haven't been inside. Tis was just a rooftop function. Must stop procrastinating :)
Delete'Green Drinks' sounds like those strange grass-based smoothies one sees. Not for me!
ReplyDelete"Green" as in looking after the planet. As I mentioned above the free drinks included cider, wine and beer.
DeleteThis looks to be a very interesting area and event. I'm all for greening - our solar panels and storage battery are in place!
ReplyDeleteYou are ahead of us. We are still looking at the various options.
