Today is a Statutory Holiday for King's Birthday. We went for our Parkinson's walk as usual. 15 of us enjoyed a walk in perfect weather followed by a caffeine fix at a nearby cafe.
The path will run from the suburb of Kamo to the city centre when it is finished a distance of 5.6 kms. It goes past several schools so is ideal for children to walk, bike or scooter to school.
The walk we did goes as far as Kamo Intermediate School but this last part got delayed by Covid and Cyclones. It is also the most complex. There is a repurposed rail bridge on this last part.
King's Birthday, I need to remind me to change from Queen to King. Your weather looks a tad better than down here.
ReplyDeleteI keep wanting to say "Queen ". A bit chilly but no wind, ideal for a walk.
DeleteA nice walk..we found the paths really useful when we stayed in Whangarei
ReplyDeleteYes and will be even better when final part to Kamo opened shortly.
ReplyDeleteThat section has taken a long time..I remember reading the plans years ago!

DeleteLovely for a walk. I like the wide straight path!
ReplyDeleteWe generally keep these walks for winter and wet weather with the bush walks for shade in the summer.
