WAIMAHANGA TRACK

The Parkinson's walk today was the Waimahanga track, another favourite and, once again, after some heavy rain at the weekend mostly at night we had a glorious day for our walk.  There were 15 of us and we all enjoyed a catch up at a nearby cafe after the walk.

The view of the mangroves from one of the bridges

  • from the other bridge a view of ducks on a small island with the mangroves in the background

  • the lovely track.

  1. Almost a road there, with sunshine and some shadows, lovely rock in the water.

  2. Isn't a sunny day after rain a relief?!
That is a decent track, good for bikes or feet, which means that you can appreciate the scenery! Much better than many of ours.

    1. It was raining heavily at 6 a.m. so we were relieved that it cleared to a lovely day. Yes, the track is well used by bikes and feet.

    2. That is good to hear..well used tracks can generate the construction of more linking tracks.... possibly with the added "eventually"....

    3. All the tracks are well used and are being constantly added to msking it easier to ride or walk from one side of Whangarei to the other without using roads.

  3. ' Parkinson's walk' , is it meant to prevent the disease , or for those who already got it and it helps dealing with it?

    1. For people with the disease. Both the exercise and socializing are good.
