GARDEN DISCOVERY DAY 2

We had just two more gardens to view today with showers forecast.   The first was a 20 minute drive north, and as the brochure stated it was a 3.5 acre garden, originally a clay paddock and was seven years old.  It was made by two avid gardeners who both work full time.  The hard landscaping was all rocks found on the property.  The showers held off.

This was our favourite garden.

We then drove back towards home to visit a 2 acre garden that we had visited before but were keen to see again.  Unfortunately, it started to rain before we got there so it was a quick visit.  One bonus was that the Garden Club selling plants decided to sell them all for $1.00 so that they didn't have to take them back home.  I had a $5.00 note so bought five - 2 geraniums, chives and 2 petunias.

The rain made it difficult to take photos so just the one.

    1. I just buy what I like and stick it in the ground, the same as vegies.

  2. Those echiums are cool, they attract the bees and are good to add sculpture to a garden.

    1. They are lovely aren't they. I also like the Cottage Garden Echium. Bees love that as well.

  4. These gardens look very exotic, how pleasant to be able to look around them. I recognize the tall plant with many pale blue flowers as I have been given several seedlings of it from the gardener of the town's sub-tropical garden. I'm hoping the winter will not be too harsh!

    1. I hope they do well. I must try them again. I have Echium Cottage Garden which is not as striking but the bees and butterflies love it.
