It is a while since we visited the Quarry Gardens but we decided to go this morning.
Last year cyclone Gabrielle did a lot of major damage to the gardens but it is amazing the amount of work that has been done since then.
We sat in the shade enjoying the waterfall in the background of this photo.
Some of the destruction that hasn't been able to be restored.
The photos got switched around - this little chap hopped around while we were sitting.
Doug took some photos on his camera but my system won't let me download them. Grrr.
Nice to see some sunshine, it's in short supply here.
ReplyDelete23 degrees. Much better than the 36 degrees across the ditch in New South Wales.
DeleteIn a way it is good to have some of the after effects of the cyclone still showing, to remind people.but they have done a marvellous job, remembering photos of the aftermath.
ReplyDeleteIt is unseasonably warm here..we shouldn't be in double figures in November...and we have been the cloudiest and chilliest part of Scotland over the past few days!!
Chris Booth's sculpture which was a post surrounded by logs that would disintegrate over time with a rock on top is still there but just the rock and post. Next time I must get a photo.
DeleteAs always beautiful scenery. All you need for a most enjoyable walk
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely restful environment.
