IRIS

Occasionally Doug's eldest daughter gets given plants and often passes them on to us.

One last year was a rhizome with a bit of leaf.  A lovely surprise last week when it flowered for the first time.

I think there were a few of them that I planted around the garden so look forward to more of them flowering.

  1. We have some in France, but the bog-standard pale purple ones seem to overwhelm the more attractive ones, and we have very few left. That's a beauty.

    1. I will move them somewhere better for next year as they have been overtaken by other plants.

  7. How beautiful, iris are among my favourite flowers. I used to grow a lot of them but my present garden is too shady for them to do well. Yours is such a lovely colour.

    1. It was a lovely surprise. When given the rhizomes I put them in various parts of the garden and forgot about them. Your garden is lovely.
