Maidenhair Fern

It was at the very end of July, in winter, that I cut the maidenhair fern down to ground level.  The poor plant had been in a pot for many years and was pot-bound when I decided to plant it out in the garden.  I am trying to get as many plants as possible in the ground to save on watering in summer.

It is now coming away very nicely.  It amazes me how well plants can survive a certain amount of neglect.

  1. I am sure it will be much happier in the ground and will thrive gloriously. I love those Maidenhair ferns.

  6. This week I have to get out in my little garden and put everything away for the winter. It's been chilly and a bit rainy (except for yesterday, but we were a little busy!), so haven't had the urge to get out there. If I don't do it soon, it's really going to be a chore.
Your Spring posts are inspirational...will keep me going through winter here!

  7. Jacqueline - I have enjoyed you summer posts during our winter. Suddenly, everything is springing into life. I would be in the garden now if our grand daughter wasn't due any minute.

  8. It looks good to me, around here, plants need to survive or they won't make it, I am a tad forgetful.
