We didn't rush and it took us 1 hour 50 minutes including a 10 minute stop at the top.
The stream alongside the track
The waterfall and "staircase" alongside it. A couple of years ago Doug helped to bring a gentleman down that on a stretcher.

Looking up at the staircase
A couple of views from the top - nice sunny day today
Rosemary asked what a ponga is - it is pronounced punga and is a New Zealand tree fern as shown in these photos.
Lovely walk with magnificent views, but whatever is nice Pongo?
ReplyDeleteRosemary - the ponga is the tree fern in the photo. They are nice specimens with new growth.
DeleteThe staircase looks exhausting, love the tree ferns.
ReplyDeleteActually, it is easier with the staircase on that track than with the steps at a lower incline on the other tracks
DeleteLove your pictures. They all look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely walk - hope things are going well for you both.
DeleteI love those Tree Ferns; if only they would grow here. No chance!
ReplyDeleteThey are looking great at the moment.
DeleteThere are times when your photos show a landscape that looks very British, Sue, but that changes as soon as you include tree ferns. What lush foliage and lovely views.
