Since Doug finished the sunroom we have started to sort our possessions. Of course, there is too much as we have the "treasures" from both our houses and lives. One item that I am using is a Glass Hen that Doug had. It only holds 5 eggs but is useful to just have them on the bench and the rest somewhere cooler.
I have an egg holder that holds just 5 eggs. 5 is the new half-dozen.
ReplyDeleteI suppose metric is the new/old thing
ReplyDeleteLovely, and as an ornament as well as being very handy.
ReplyDeleteYes, I really like it.
DeleteI bought a box of 10 free range eggs this week, and thought it a rather curious number to sell being always used to a dozen!!
ReplyDeleteI used to buy a brand of free range eggs from the supermarket that was packed in tens but now buy dozens from our local Growers' Market
DeleteLove the hen. It wouldn't fit on our bench. There is too much other stuff. Oh for a nice clear bench
ReplyDeleteLots on the bench here but managed to make room.
DeleteI keep half a dozen handy, in an egg basket - not nearly as attractive as your lovely broody hen.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a nice 12 egg wooden rack but gave it to a friend when I moved down here. Much prefer this glass hen.
ReplyDeleteWhen two households come together, it is hard to choose what to keep. The glass hen was a good choice.
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot still to sort as Doug and his late wife were collectors.
