Before Doug and I married he used to come around to my house every day and, as soon as he arrived and sat down, Kim, my cat, would jump on his lap and always sat on his lap while we watched television.
Once I moved here to Doug's house she refused to sit on his lap. Today, after the operation Doug lay on the settee and Kim came and indicated she wanted to get on the settee so he lifted her up and put her in her basket. She straight away got out of the basket and onto him as though she knew he was not very well. Amazing how animals know these things.
Once the anaesthetic wore off Doug was in a lot of pain. He has a very high pain tolerance so if he says it is very painful then I know it really is.
Hopefully, he will get a good night's sleep and feel a little better tomorrow.
That is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteI hope Doug feels better quickly.
He is still half asleep but says the pain is a little better.
DeleteCats have a knowledge when things are not as they should be, far beyond what we think they might have. Kim will be great company as Doug recovers. I hope the pain is less this morning, We have very strong winds here, it is early, too early to be out to see if any trees are down.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you don't have any trees down - you could without that. How long till settlement. Good luck with finding your perfect property.
DeleteKim seems to know he needs comforting. Hopefully, the pain subsides quickly.
ReplyDeleteHe says the pain is much better today although he is, obviously, not feeling very bright. He is sitting in the lounge with Kim and labrador, Sophie keeping him company.
DeleteThe company of friendly animals always makes us feel better. They know their job!
ReplyDeleteCats know.
ReplyDeletePirate had one removed just in front of his ear...the same side...of course we also drive on the left, so get cooked by the sun on the same side.....
At least he is feeling a little better today but not good enough to do work. He is usually like the Energiser Man but today is just relaxing. Could be the paracetamol he is still taking for the pain.
DeleteHow sweet that Kim came to be close to him. Animals certainly know and give great comfort.
ReplyDeleteHope recovery is quick. Thank goodness you are aware of these things in NZ and take prompt action
