Yesterday, Doug came in from his workshop with this seahorse. Apparently, he carved it many years ago and it has been sitting in his workshop all this time.
I think it is delightful. The cotton thread around its neck is so that I could hang it below a picture.
It is about 6 inches long.
Doug did a very nice job on this carving.
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful. Nice at last to rescue it and put it on display.
ReplyDeleteWell done Doug
Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a little beauty! I bet a lot of hours went into carving it.
ReplyDeleteLovely to have on display, too beautiful to hide, and a lot of fine detail there. Clever man!!
ReplyDeleteI remember swimming in Greece with Seahorses; they were everywhere (real ones).
ReplyDeleteYou get them here as well.
DeleteOh, that's a really nice seahorse. The carving looks like it would be smooth to the touch. Well done.
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely and smoothe - very tactile. Doug has been working on our bathroom and I have just moved it in there.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful - very clever.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful carving; so nice that it has now been brought indoors to be appreciated.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment on my blog, Susan, regarding your Red Setter; they are indeed wonderful dogs and I enjoyed being in the company of dozens of them last Sunday. xx
They did look as though they were enjoying themselves
