WHANGAREI MATERNITY HOSPITAL

We were very impressed with the Maternity Hospital.  It was opened in 2016 and even has provision made to enlarge it when necessary.  The tile murals at the entrance were lovely.  This is one of them.

If you are interested there is a video here which shows you around the hospital.

We have a Long Weekend coming up  - Queens Birthday Weekend so a good time to keep off the roads.  For us it will be the usual - Market etc on Saturday morning, Gym on Sunday and the Parkinson Walk on Monday.

The vegetable garden is producing really well and we have been eating plentiful supplies of  silver beet (Swiss chard), spinach and  pak choi fresh from the garden.

  1. Just thinking about a maternity hospital makes my tummy hurt! I had 3 very overdue babies (all were at least 7 days overdue) and you can imagine how ready I was to get er done!

  2. I felt for Zoe who was overdue. She is only small. I was not lucky enough to have any children.

  3. My Chard is about 1 cm high, and Spinach about 2 cms. I tried growing Pak Choi last year.... disaster.

  5. Even the name of the maternity unit is nice - Kotuku. Looks like a lovely place.
Glad your garden is not disappointing you and provides you with fresh, abundant products.

    1. Hope you get a quiet day today. Monday is just like any other day to us and will be the Parkinson's walk. Tomorrow we walk up Whau Valley Road to the dam and back. Quite a pleasant walk weather permitting. That said, we walk whatever the weather.

  7. The mosaic is indeed a beautiful touch - not that parents-to-be are likely to take time to inspect it!
