A few weeks ago Doug's youngest grand-daughter and her husband lost their chocolate Labrador, Whittaker. (Whittaker is a New Zealand chocolate brand)
She asked Grandad to paint Whittaker for her and this is the result.
I see a Chocolate Lab daily on my walks with Billy. Lovely dogs. Well done Doug.
All labs are delightful dogs.
A good memory well captured
I am sure they will be pleased with it.
I imagine it won't be long until that painting takes pride of place. Lovely Whittaker. Great name, by the way. It looks like Doug has really captured the velvety softness of his beautiful muzzle, I can almost feel it.
Yes once framed it will be given to them.
Beautiful painting. What a wonderful way to remember a beloved pet.
We have a painting by Doug in our dining room of one of his first wife's dogs.
That's a lovely portrait of their special 'friend'. Doug did well.
Beautiful, Doug, this will be a loved memory of their Whittaker.
Yes, we got them to send several photos and Doug chose one to work from.
The grand-daughter is going to be thrilled with the picture, (and a little heart-broken.)
It is now framed and I just phoned her but she is at work (A. & E. nurse). We will drop it off at her mother's house shortly.
What a wonderful painting of a dearly departed pet.
There were tears when she viewed it.
