The photos I took were all of their flower garden.
While there I also visited our old property and was pleased that I did. The people we sold to removed most of the old trees and, for some weird reason broke up the concrete in front of the garage) but it was looking neat and tidy even though some of the fruit trees need some T.L.C.
The macrocarpa tree stumps were huge and Jacqui has started planting around them. We planted the two olive trees in the seventies.
I love seeing the Yucca in full bloom. I always feel a bit strange when we go back ever to drive by our old house. Hope you are well.
ReplyDeleteThat Yucca, I want one, but have not found a garden centre that has the variety with beautiful blooms. Yes, always a bit odd to re-visit, hope it wasn't too memory provoking. Cheers from Jean
ReplyDeleteYou are a very brave lady to go back and see your old home. I can't. I have heard that my gardens are gone and it would break my heart. When I sold it, one of the selling points the realtor advertised were the gardens. It is hard for me to understand why that person bought the house if they did not like flowers and such. The house is only a few miles away, but I will not go back and look.
ReplyDeleteYour friends certainly know about flowers. I wish I had that knowledge.
ReplyDeletehello Sue. Your trip sounded just what you needed. The pictures are lovely. It's a strange feeling when you go back to an old home. Glad they've looked after it to an extent. I feel my old homes are almost like the end of chapters of a book in parts of my life and no more than a little bit of history. I don't think I would ever want to go back to any of them - they've gone.
ReplyDeleteThose garden photos were a real lift to my spirits on this frosty and foggy day in Wales, Susan. I'm glad you found your old home being well looked after, despite the inevitable changes.
